Laura Stevens Kent
Laura Stevens Kent joined ACLA in July 2025 as Senior Vice President of Government Affairs and Policy. She brings decades of experience to the role having worked on Capitol Hill, in senior association leadership positions for the Hospital & Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) and as a health care policy consultant at DeBrunner & Associates. In her tenure with HAP, Laura was the chief advocate responsible for advancing the interest of Pennsylvania hospitals and health systems. She oversaw federal and state advocacy, political engagement, communications, emergency management, and strategic initiatives of the association. In her time on Capitol Hill, Laura worked for two senior members of the Pennsylvania Congressional Delegation handling their health care portfolios and served as the Executive Director of the Tuesday Group Caucus—a coalition of center-right governance minded members of the U.S. House of Representatives. Stevens Kent holds a B.A. from the University of Vermont and earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center while working full-time on the Hill.
