(Washington, D.C.) – Following the Senate confirmation this week of Seema Verma as administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the American Clinical Laboratory Association (ACLA), the nation’s leading organization representing clinical laboratories, today extended congratulations to the head of the agency that assumes, among many responsibilities, the setting of Medicare reimbursement rates for health care providers and services.
Julie Khani, president of ACLA, said, “ACLA member laboratories provide critical and cutting-edge laboratory services to Medicare beneficiaries. We look forward to working with Administrator Verma to advance public policies that encourage innovation and recognize the value of diagnostic services in delivering cost effective health care to patients.”
